Vintage Tractors Check it out
of River John #2
There’s a new venue in River John for musicians.
Right downtown, the building that once housed the
library is now a place for musicians to meet, play,
practice and learn more about making music. It is also
a venue for local performing artists to put on shows
that we can enjoy and support.
Getting ready for the season This vintage tractor is a 1940 Massey-Harris 101
Junior, manufactured in Racine, Wisconsin, owned by
Kenny Clark on #6 Hwy. I’m sure that everyone has
seen the bright red tractor parked beside the baby-blue
1967 Meteor. Kenny has restored both vehicles from
wrecks to full working condition.
Still in its early stages, Riverhouse is the brainchild
of the musician we know as Addison Locke. When
I popped in Sunday at 3:30 p.m. during the Gospel
Hour, I was pleasantly surprised by a warm and invit-
ing place. I saw about ten tables, and twenty chairs,
coffee and tea and a raised, well-lit stage; in a word,
“cozy.”
