River John has a long and interesting history. Agriculture and fishing are strong in River John and surrounding area but there was a time when it was home to a booming shipbuilding industry. In the Museum you can also read the Pastor's Diary. A collection of daily entries from the pastoral career of Rev. H. B. MacKay. Rev. MacKay was minister of Salem Church and kept a diary of his daily life from January to September 1885.
